Paris IV: Paris!!!

Here is an amazing view from the second deck of the Eiffel Tower! You can see all of the west bank and the Seine River and all the Museums!

The second picture is Place de Concord. This obalisk was placed in the place where the Gillatine once stood. This massive square is where the revolutionaries carried out their revolution, cutting off the heads of all the nobles and even the revolutionaries themselves.

Next is the eiffel tower!!! oh man, its pretty!! I saw it from every angle possible i think!

The fifth picture is where the Musketeers used to hang out! Dartanion, the musketeer really did live here and so did the other three :-) I was really excited when i heard about it! We saw it from our boat tour of Paris.

The last three pictures were taken on our stroll through Paris our first night. And by stroll i really mean hike -b/c our hotel was almost completely outside paris and so we walked along the river to the sights to save on a little money.

It was really neat though because we saw the night life on the river. This was deffinately my favorite part of Paris because it was something you dont get to see at all the touristy sights. Along the river there were little ampitheaters that faced the water adn each one had a different group of parisians hanging out, drinking wine, dancing to different types of music and each had a different age group! It was really neat but i felt like such a tourist walking through stairing with a big american smile on my face...
Here are pictures of Notre Dame at night -first from far away and then up close. Then we walked next door to the Louvre to take a picture with the Texas A&M Flag in front of the glass pyramid! It was really really neat to see it at night!!

What an adventure! This trip to Paris really made me fall in love with the city for all new reasons. I really got to see the everyday Paris, with people lounging on the grass and eating and drinking at night and I got to see how they hang out on friday nights.

Oh! and at 10:30 on friday nights, the cops close down a few streets and thousands of rollerbladers go riding around the city! it was crazy! I got pictures of that too! but how fun -this city is amazing! I'm so glad I got to go!

J'ame le Paris!
