Strasbourg: week 1

Here are pictures of Strasbourg!
The first is of the Tram that I take to school, it is literally probubly 20 steps from our hotel, and it is really quick and goes everywere in the city!
The second picture is of Klebber Square which is also super close to our hotel, this place has so much shopping! Its a really neat square where lots of people hang out during the day (teenagers mostly -shouldnt they be in school?) and it has a fountain that we have vowed to go "Pond hopping" in sometime before we leave (aggie tradition!-whoop!)
The Third picture is of the amazing Cathedral here in Strasbourg, it is called: Notre Dame du Strasbourg. And it took 300 Years to build!! This picture doesnt do it justice because I could not get all of the tower in it, it is just so impressive! Lots of Baroque and Gothic Architecture!
The next picture is of my room mate, Amanda and I -She's a marketing major too and we get along really well and are having a lot of fun. The next is of our welcome dinner -yummy l'Alsace food! Their regional specialty is sourcrout and tarte de flambe, which is basically a pizza on flat bread, though i'm not allowed to call it pizza -it is mostly cheese and onions, yum!

We went on a boat tour and a walking tour of the city Sunday, which was really informative. I learned all about the Cathedral, how old the buildings are, the regional beers and wines, etc.
Monday we went to this amazing park with a zoo in it that is free to the public. The park was really big with a huge pond where you can rent row boats and really big trees with thick winding branches and little tufts of leaves at the end that remind me of the ones in Dr. Seuse books ( i think its just the way they cut back the trees in the spring but it made them look funny)

I started class on Tuesday, as Monday was Pentecost and holiday for the schools. The two classes that I am taking are interesting but a little boring, especially after all the exciting stuff i've been up to. I'm really excited to learn more about the history of the European Union and how it works and stuff. I'm deffinately not excited about our finance class, but its worth it i'm sure.

This weekend I'm planning on going to Munich, Germany to see the city, the castle in Disney's Sleeping Beauty, the Neuschwanstein Castle (Ludwig Castle) we will also tour Munich

I'll deff keep you updated on that :-)
Jennifer
